Music of 2017 – part seven

A little light in part seven because it includes a week of great live music at Broadstairs.

Led Zeppelin – The Complete BBC Sessions, 2016 – mostly 1969 and some 1971. Lovely to hear variations on familiar tracks.

@dukkaboy made a Beatles playlist on Spotify which is interesting and provoked  a little discussion about album sequencing.

Broadstairs Folk WeekGetting in the mood for Broadstairs Folk Week.
The Urban Folk Quartet – Live lll, 2017
Cohen Braithwaite-Kilcoyne – Outway Songster, 2017 – one of Granny’s Attic. Hat tip @MikeSummers1343 who we see each year at BFW.
Granny’s Attic – Off the Land, 2016
Ben Maggs – Come As You Are, 2015
Ben Maggs – Let in the Light, 2011
Broom Bezzums – No Smaller Than the World, 2015

I found that Spotify has a playlist for “Fresh Folk 2017” and mighty fresh it is, too.

Prince – Purple Rain, 1984 (deluxe expanded edition, 2017) – It may be one of the best for the 1980s but not ‘the best album of all  time’.

Lindsey Buckingham and Christine McVie – Buckingham and McVie, 2017

Nancy Kerr – Instar, 2016

Broadstairs Folk WeekMore from Broadstairs Folk Week…
Keston Cobblers Club – Almost Home, 2017 – impressive live.
Keston Cobblers Club – Wildfire, 2015

Richard Thompson – Acoustic Classics  ll, 2017 – Meet on the Ledge played on BBC Radio2 Folk Show
Richard Thompson – Acoustic Classics, 2014
