Unequal Scenes – Cape Town

In 2009 I joined a study tour to Cape Town which was interesting and influential in my thinking about global issues. I blogged about it here >

There are brilliant photography publications from that time. However, we didn’t have the digital tools that are available now. I came across this wonderful website which illustrates modern inequalities which extend far beyond South Africa.

The drone photos are stunning and the commentary is detailed. There is so much visual food for thought about how we organise society – and how human boundaries can be so spatially rigid.

Google Earth Teach

By coincidence my BlueSky stream of social media directed me to a teacher-produced source using Google Earth, Street View etc in a powerful demonstration. It starts in Cape Town. It is experimental so may not remain.
