Lorna is the on the right-hand end of the middle row.
Westcliff High School for Girls was evacuated and Lorna was in Chapel-en-le-Frith, Derbyshire. (“Lyndhurst”, Bowden Lane)
The prefects photo is from when they returned to Westcliff and just before she went to Saffron Walden. She stayed with the aunts in Leigh as her mother had, in the meantime, moved to Bournemouth.

Mum’s friend Iso
Mum told me she shared digs with Iso in Highams Park, Chingford (now LB of Waltham Forest) and here she is standing behind Isobel Margaret Longhurst and Jan Wrobel at their wedding in Wokingham on 4 October 1947. I searched on Ancestry and found a lovely photo of Iso on her 80th birthday at a house in Wokingham. Sadly, she died in 2007.
