Mile End Old Town is now the site of the Mile End Hospital and QMUL.

I found this transcription from “Booth’s Notebook, 1888 – Tailors No 2” which accounts for the businesses in the area. It is unclear why Number 28 is missing but those listed are consistent with the census recording ‘waist coat maker’.

Nottingham Place.
All have workshops in the house, at the top as a rule. Good work as a rule. All coat workers and in a small way, employing under 10 workpeople as a rule (5 or 6 average).
