We both had to go back to work so our honeymoon was, en route back to Deal, one night at the Bedford Arms, Woburn which didn’t have any heating oil.
It has just been reported that Spring 2013 has been the coldest since 1979 and we certainly remember how cold it was living on the sea-front in a calor-gas heated flat with loose-fitting sash-windows.

We did eventually make a start exploring the many interesting parts of Kent…
.. and a day trip to nearby France: Boulogn in November.
There were some unexpected landscapes…
.. and visits back to Cheshire took in some canal features.
